Review on I'm the Bad Guy
Saturday, March 22nd
We held auditions on Saturday. One band showed up and they were I'm the Bad Guy. Unfortunately, though they are very enthusiastic about participating in our Battle of the Bands, they still need to practice. They have their own written songs, however, at the audition they weren't able to perform any. They are a band that has just started and so they need practice. We have given them another chance because their lead singer is great! We would like them to have a chance to improve themselves and show us that they are capable of going to the top. One thing we believe in, is giving people an opportunity and not give up. I'm the Bad Guy has a lot of potential and so we know they can be much better and be the best that they can be. They might not be able to work out, however, we are giving them an oppourtunity to do their best next Saturday, March 29th.
At the audition they were really nervous and that was a factor that did not let them move foward. They were very reflective and knew what they did wrong, and so they said they would do their best next time and so they were given the chance to audition once more. We will see how they are this upcoming Saturday and determine whether or not they are going to participate in our Battle of the Bands. So far, they have 2 thumbs up!
Review on BCF
Saturday, Art Share
On Saturday night, Art Share had an event in which BCF participated. BCF is a rap band from the Los Angeles area. They are a group of six young men that have been performing for about five years. One member of the group, Draztic has been in the group for about 4 years and Celestial has been part of the group for about two years.
We went to see bands perform, and we found them. They are a great young rap group that not only sing about what is going on in our community but also talk about how society has affected our community. BCF may be a band that may perform at our Battle of the Bands concert, they are a group of young men that have so much talent. They are a group of young men that like any other group wants a chance to pursue their dreams and so we are going to help them with that.
We also saw another group of young men that sang about certain things that were not very proper and talked about females being b****es, and that is not the type of talent we are looking for. We want real meaning in the music, also fun, but degrading one gender is not want we want represented. Urban Revolt Records strives to find meaning and importance in music, not offensive lyrics that refer to a gender as a weak less important gender.
BCF represented the urban Los Angeles area in such a way that was represented thoroughly and well developed because they mentioned issues that matter, not h**s. They are a group of young men that still need help in their musical skills, but are in the right track of obtaining them.
We give them four thumbs up!
2 thumbs up=ok group
3 thumbs up= they are really good
4 thumbs up=great group
5 thumbs up=they are the BEST that there is!

Hello Everyone!
Well, I have so much to say.
We do not have a venue for our Battle of the Bands, the person that almost assured us that we could maybe use their venue has not contacted us and three of the bands that said were going to participate in the competition backed down. I cannot believe that this is happening to us. Everything was almost secured 2 weeks ago, now everything is just a mess. We are looking for venues like crazy Everyday that goes by we call as many places as we possibly can. However, they do not want to do it because either it was late notice or they just do not want to loose money. I am so frustrated right now. It feels as though the world is conspiring against us so that we wont win. However, we will push forward and do our best. We want to win so much because I know we can. We are looking for bands right now and we really do not know where to start... read on >>

Hey URR,
Just want you to know that none of the bonus points have been counted or added into the scores. You and BDR are tied because you both keep scoring perfect marks! So don't beat yourself up about the trailer.

Hey URR
LOVE the new logo. Very powerful! Sends a clear message. I guess you got something valuable out of the Blastbeat business session with Kenny Kerner at the Musicians Institute.
If you have a myspace profile you should post it prominently on your Blastspace profile to attract people to it and vice versa.
