About us

Formed in November 2007, The Rapport’s rapid rise from obscurity is matched only by their frantic and energetic performances. Based in Dundalk Co. Louth the band was formed from the remnants of two popular local bands, giving them the experience of a well oiled outfit while maintaining the excitement of a fresh project. The rhythm section of Facundo Rodriguez (drums) and Ben McKenna (bass) have an unnatural intuitive connection, with both unconsciously predicting and inviting the others every movement, a great talent which comes from their years of experience playing together. The guitars are handled by Robert Woods and Andy McGlynn. Often trading solos and riffs, the boys individual styles complement each other, with Robert’s deep blues melodies and riffs balanced out by Andy’s harsh carving tones. This sound is topped off by front man Sean Woods with fast spat and intelligent lyrics, rapped in catchy and intriguing melodies. The band have been likened to Rage Against the Machine, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, The Music and Oasis however due to the band members own diverse music tastes there is no clear lineage to their style. Live the boys have been described as akin to a riot in a nightclub while there first full studio recording Random Abuse seems more like a street brawl given a full high definition television broadcast. To date in their short five months on the live circuit The Rapport have covered venues as wide spread as The Spirit Store (Dundalk), McHugh’s (Drogheda), The Voodoo Lounge (Dublin), The Stables (Mullingar), and Masons (Derry) coupled with an ever increasing online following the bands fan base continues to grow

we've all experienced dublin before, well no not all of us some of us point blank refuse to go to dublin because it's big and scary and there's beggars under the bank machines... and beggars with clip boards harassing you on the street, and ya cant find a decent chippy anywhere (mcdonalds and burger king just don't cut it).... but sooner or later when living in Ireland you have to go there, some end up loving it and staying some run for the hills. but when your a band there's a whole different set of questions to worry about.... will we be able to find the venue, will anyone come, will they like us...... how do we avoid the beggars!? But sooner or later you gotta bite the bullet and take a crack at the capital so here goes, the rapport's dublin debut is in the voodoo lounge on thurs the 8th of may..... and we're gonna level the place.
