OOXML is now ISO standard, alas

DIS29500 known as OOXML became an international standard. OfficeOpenXML is a format developed by Microsoft and accepted by ECMA. It is a bad news for whole IT world and all computer users in general. Why is it? It is for numerous reasons. First, OOXML is a clumsy, obscure, overcomplicated and poorly documented format (despite over 6 thousand pages long spec). It supports binary data inside XML, which is a nightmare for a programmer to process. It is incompatible with other ISO standards such as dates and country codes. But the worst is that there is NO WORKING IMPLEMENTATION of OOXML. Yes, you've heard that. There is not software on this planet or anywhere else that can read and/or write proper ISO-OOXML format.
