Alrite, whats the craic... We're Stanley, a 5 piece alt-rock and/or roll band based Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo/Renmore, Co. Galway.

We started up sometime in late 2001 while still in primary school when Mark and Gerry just decided on making a band of some sort to pass the time and to try and make a bit of money. After a few not-so-successful starts (Ivers was the singer at one point, need we say anymore?!) we had a line-up that's practically the same to the one now. Our first gigs were 'Battle of the Bands' gigs but moved onto playing in pubs late in 2005. We got disqualified from most of the early battles for acting the dick but grew up a little bit since and started to take things more seriously! Mark Forkan played rhythm guitar with us for a year or so but fucked off to college in 2004. Johnboy (formerly of shit-heap punk band 'Green Machine') joined us the following year after a long break. Late 2005 was when we started to write our own stuff and take on more covers.
'Thoughtless' was our name from 2001-2006, we changed it to 'Stanley' because the old one was shit and made us sound sorta emo, which we're not. Our biggest achievement to date has to be qualifying for the national finals of that Blast:Beat competition craic, and although we didn't win it was fuckin class. Hopefully we can get into it next year!
Recently Mark's auld lad was more than generous and decided to invest in a new touring van and new equipment, g'man Frank!!!! All of us except for Johnboy (he's stuck in leaving cert) are now living in Galway city having a great time in college so we reherse every weekend when we're down. The latest studio demos are/will be uploaded as soon as we get them done. Feel free to have a listen and let us know what you think.
