Mr Lightweight are a 4 piece pop punk/rock band from Co. Carlow.
Founding members Des(guitar/vocals) and Pat(drums) have been playing music and writing songs with each other since late 2005. In early 2007 they decided to record a rough demo and in July 2007 did so in Manor Park Studios.

The bassist on those recordings, Ronan, has since parted ways with the band and in early 2008 Pat and Des recruited two new members Spud(Bass) and Kristian(guitar/vocals).
Their fan base has been growing from strength to strength since and in July of 2008 they will be heading back to manor park to record new songs and hopefully release them with the old ones shortly after.

Early this year the band struck a deal with hollywood based 272 records to have their song 'Sun Bed' included on the pop punk compilation CD 'The Mob Rules Vol.2'
The Song was the first single from the CD and is in regular rotation on live365.com as well as receiving plays on many california college radio stations.
