About us

Formed in early 2005 from the ashes of Irish grindcore band Sludgehook. Old Hook members Frank (Guitar), Howard(guitar) and Alan(drums) set about practicing old and writing new material. Johnny Watkins was recruited on bass soon after. After a debut gig in Fred Zepplelins in Cork on the 25th of Febuary 2005, (featuring St Murray on temperary vocals), the band recruited guttural vocalist Paul who had come to watch the band. In March 2006,Paul left ammicably to join instrumentalists Sirocco, and was quickly replaced by an Ogre called Andy-(he of ex-Within) In June 2006 Johnny Watkins was replaced by Bag of cans Barry-(legend), keepin in line with the old Sludgehook tradition of musical chairs. As of July 2006, Fivewilldie finally became an accomplished and settled line-up. In November 06, Fivewilldie cut their first demo 'Year Of The Dead', and proceded to bombast Cork City with a string of intense gigs. In 2007, Fivewilldie established themselves as a live force to be reckoned with, perfoming a string of energetic and intense gigs up and down the country....2008 has brought a mini tour of Poland, a bag of new tunes, a heavier approach and shitloads of gigs. A debut album is currently being recorded. Fivewilldie play very fuckin heavy....|M|

New album update

We begin recording our debut album on the 27th of July, with Philip Cotter (The Water Reference,Southern Dirge, Seretonin). 9 new tracks, all crushingly heavy, no major suprises, its definitely gonna be heavier and stronger than our 'Year of the Dead' demo. None of the songs on there will feature.

Names of tracks and album are still undecided, but for now we've a few working titles. we'l be playing some of the more recently written tracks at our upcoming gigs

'On Your Knees' is a rough demo from the new album

All going well, it should be up and ready for the end of August...|m|
