we had a few ups and downs over the last
month or two but we really pulled
together last night to make and amazing
gig happen.

5 months agoOnce everything was set up we let the HUGE line of people outside the door in cheaked thiere tickets and them sold tickets. And let the bands at them. The bands were really great and most of them got the croud going crazy.Everone said they had a great time and loved it!

5 months agoWhen we first arived a cuba yeasturday at about 12 the door was lockded! I mean we couldnt get in for like 35 minuits. It was a bit hectick for a bit but onece we got in it was fine we just prpared anything and everything that needed to be doing such as geting the place ready, settinling the juges, geting the lighting right, the tickets ready for sale at the door and sutf like that but most important was the equopment set up and sound cheak!
It truly was great!

sale and are avalable off any member of
our team (endapendent team that is) in
school or in the gaf...but if you still dont
have aa ticket dont fear you can get them at the
doorin cuba on the day of our gig this saturday
Tickets cost €5 or €7 at the door of cuba
night club.

All bands will be playing in club cuba, galway on the 15th of march form 2pm-5pm.
Tickets on sale in the gaf form sunday
€5 or €7 at the door.

5 months agoToday in our meeting we started
working on how to promote and sell
or gig to people, we started with research on
previous gigs that had been held in the past
and thought which ones were most successful
and why. afer that we came up with loads of
really good ideas such as internet promotion,
designing posters and putting
them where they would be seen most, such
as youth cafes, schools, shops,
shopping centers, anywhere and everywere really.
we also finished of any things needing done
with scouting for bands and making sure everyone
involved knows the finer details of what was going
on concerning blast beat and our concert such as
dates, times,sound checks,lighting ,security,
tickets, promotin ,venue, buisiness plan, PR
plan and anything else.

5 months agoAfter we got our date and venue of our gig we went straight ahead and started designing our tickets for
it and we got them today and are in the process of producing them to sell. They will be avaliable for purches asap in places such as local youth cafes (the gaf) and schools etc. Will keep you updated. they are €5

6 months agoour magical gig is going to be on Saturday the 15th of march in cuba nightclub in eyre square....at 2pm... its ok though,under 18s allowed this time!! if you want a ticket, they will be available of any of the team or if you dont know us, you can buy one in the Gaf on francis street for €5...or €7 AT the door...any questions just contact us...

6 months agoI just posted the photos I was going on about.
There basicly just the work we have been doing in the past few weeks, mainly to do with the organising and promoting of our concert and stuff like that. Have a look... :)
Recruitment poster!
6 months agoJust another quick blog from the art and design committee.
so once we had our logo finished and scanned up onto the computer it was time for us to make some posters to recruit some bands.We gave a poster to Conor (our marketing guy) and he made copies to put around our school, other schools and places like The Gaf youth cafe where they would be seen by interested bands.We'll try and upload the poster as soon as we can!

Art and design
6 months agoWe started by designing a logo for " Endapendent records" - this was a name the team came up with after a good hour brainstorming! We decided in the end that we wanted a name that represented our school "St. Endas".The logo shows an "independent musician" and corresponds a record with the name of our company to make up the logo.(the logo is saved in our pictures!)

6 months agoyesterday after school, the CEOs met with jon to discuss our progress and options for the coming couple of weeks. the meeting was a success!

6 months agoHi I’m Eimear journalist for the Endapendent team so your going to be hearing from me a lot more than you would probably want!!
So down to business, this was our first day officially as we chose our team today and whatnot (best word in the world don’t you think!) obviously I got journalist and Yvonne, Brian and other Brian are the C.E.O.’s. I would list all the other people who got all the other which jobs but honestly I cant remember anyway I think Michael (our IT whatgmagiger) is putting them up on this site. Our first meeting went well enough after we managed to get everyone to be quiet! And we look forward to having a super cool logo to go with our super cool name (Rita and Fiona we’re waiting and not all that patiently!) no but seriously it will be great. I think that’s about it from me for today (phew!) but I’ll be back every now and then to give ye an update on what’s going on and when our Endapendence days (events or gigs) are on!
O and by the way if you are a band in the Galway area please PLEASE contact us as we are looking for some bands to take under our collective wings you could call it and gain them some well-deserved publicity!
Thanks for taking the time for reading this and not running screaming from the room, as so many people tend to do during my rants!
