You are awesome! Everyone who attended or worked the Blastbeat USA West Final remarked upon the talent of the bands and their stage etiquette, the professionalism of the business presentations, and the general attitude and behavior of the participants and audience. You guys are the trend setters of a new generation showing the world how to live accomplished, talented, fun lives while enjoying a safe, happy, drug and alcohol free event. My hat is off to each and every one of you!
We are attracting interest from some other entities around town and may have some exciting opportunities for some of our bands. STAY TUNED TO HEAR MORE!
In the meantime, get connected with the bands and the promoters. There's bound to be a great many concerts coming up in the near future!
USA WEST REGIONAL FINAL PRIZES
4 months agoThought you might like to have an update on the prizes so far for the Blastbeat Regional Finals.
MMC COMPETITION
1ST PRIZE - All expense trip for 4 key members and their advisor to Dublin, Ireland for the World Finals December 6th. (You may fundraise to send 4 more company members)
Additional prizes for the entire team are pending.
MERIT AWARDS - Awards will be given to each of the key positions.
SPIRIT OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARD - Recipient will then be a candidate for the World Finals Spirit of Social Entrepreneurship Award which would include an all expense trip to Dublin for the World Finals December 6th.
2 Full Scholarships to the Musicians Institute Summer Shot Program will be awarded for as yet undetermined merit in the MMC competition. Additional prizes TBA.
BAND COMPETITION
All bands competing in the Regional Finals will receive a professional video taped DVD of their performance.
1ST PRIZE - All expense trip to Dublin, Ireland (up to 5 band members) to compete in the Blastbeat World Finals on December 6th. Bands from USA West, South, East, Ireland, UK, Slovakia and South Africa will THEN compete for the offer of a recording contract and tour to cities where Blastbeat operates.
2ND PRIZE - Full scholarships to Musicians Institute Summer Shot Program (up to 5 band members) June 23-28, 2008.
3RD PRIZE - $500 scholarships to Musicians Institute Summer Shot Program (up to 5 band members) June 23-28, 2008
BLASTBEAT CONCERT DATES!
3 months agoHere is a list of the confirmed concerts and battles. I hope you'll attend. Bonus pts to the MMC that sends people to events given by other MMC's. 20pts for the first 2 people plus 5pts for every person thereafter for a single event. Maximum 100 bonus pts offered for combined concert attendance ie. 2 people visiting 5 events, or 8 people visiting 2 events, etc. Let's build an awesome network of Music Promoters and Bands here in LA!

Month 1 Deadline for Group #2

Hopefully you're devoting a little of your Spring Break to finishing up your month 1 assessments. They are due MIDNIGHT SUNDAY MARCH 23RD. I will be checking your company BlastSpace profiles first thing Monday morning for the purposes of grading.
MONTH 1 CRITERIA MARKS
Register Mini Company Name with Blastbeat
and activate Blastbeat e-mail address and mini
company website - 60 PTS
Create mini company profile on www.blastspace.com - 100
Upload team Photo’s on company website (minimum of 30)-30 PTS
Upload at least one Interview with band AND review album/gig - 30 PTS
At least 30 friends on blastspace profile - 40 PTS
Submit monthly Mini company Blog - 100 PTS
Submit BY EMAIL Mini Company Business Plan - 240 PTS

6 months agoMark your calendars. The USA West Regional Finals will be held Saturday June 7th at the Musician's Institute Concert Hall in Hollywood, California. Be prepared for an all day event with MMC set ups and band load ins beginning at 1pm and the amazing concert going into the evening 10:30 - 11pm.

I'm pleased to report that the Musician's Institute in Hollywood, California has joined forces with us to bring all of you some fantastic opportunities. If you've never heard of it you should check out their website www.mi.edu . These opportunities which will include workshops, performance, concerts, scholarships will be open to all within our Blastbeat and Blastspace Live community either as prizes, incentives, first come first serve, or "Everybody come on down!" So stay tuned for some exciting announcements!

Getting Started

You should all have, or be in the process of, registering your company profile as well as your individual profiles on blastSpace. Your CEO should be sending that info in to Michael. Then you are off and running! Read your manuals. Know your jobs and resonsibilities. Get started now! EVERYONE should be involved. If you don't know what to do ask your CEO. If you still don't know what to do, ask your advisor or contact me. Oh,.... and you might want to give some thought to raising some seed money for the initial expenses you might encounter. Could come in handy!
MMC's forming in the greater Los Angeles Area
7 months agoWell, we're gaining MMC's. So far we have a great group out of New Roads School. They're adding some key people and coming up with a name and logo even as I write. Hopefully they'll be up and running soon with their own BlastSpace.
San Fernando Valley Boys & Girls Club has just joined the team. What a fabulous club! OMG I was impressed. You'll hear about them soon.
Animo Film and Theater Arts will most likely be joining us soon. I'll let you know.

In the mean time check out Undicided Production, from Olympic High School. They held their battle of the bands concert back in November. They're getting all their ducks in a row for the Regional Final!
