"The band started during the middle of summer 06,Drummer evan had recently parted ways with his old band who were of a "metal" genre,He had been noticing a very metal trend in kilkenny and around ireland and knew a friend who felt the same way if not even more passionate about wanting something different in the music scene in kilkenny,that person was singer/guitarist Cian o'Sullivan,evan approached cian about starting something and cian accepted the offer with great pleasure The band then decided to be very paticular about who they got as a bassist,as they did not want someone who would want to change to a more heavier style halfway through the bands career,they turned to good friend laura nolan who had stated she would like to hear something different in the kilkenny music scene The band have adopted a melodic Mellow rock sound that is definatly noticable,the band take there influences from Nearly dead jim,The Driven and even johnny cash to name but a few,the band play the zoo after battle of the bands,and also will be playing paris texas in october as part of a weekly friday night gigs,There 1st ep is released on saturday 30th of september and includes 4 originals "Mellon Collie Tragidy","Suffer","Ether" and "Simple Confusions" -Kilkennymusic.com Since Then mantra have Played many gigs and recruited a new bassist James Thatcher And the band are Starting there tour on January until March
