Ivy Blew Interview

This is houliboots the bassist answering by de way, i will give my view personally and wat de band tinks aswell..
1) When did you guys form as a band origionally?
We formed a little over a year ago, but have changed our name and singer in late 2007....so really we have only seriously been a band for a short time.


2) Who as a person inspires you Creatively and Personaly?
I am inspired personally by every great entertainer, who can put on a show 4 the crowd and still create music, such as Kurt cobain and flea from the red hot chili peppers, 2 name just a few...i'm sure the other members each have their own personal people who inspire them.



3) Do you hope to go on and 'make it' in the music industry or do you play just for fun?
We have been doing really really well recently with our new live tracks beeing released, they have made the charts on blastspace now for a few weeks in a row, so of course we would luv 2 have continued success in the industry, but also have fun doing it, if people like us then that all good but we do like 2 have fun in making our music and 'making it' is just a bonus.



4) Have any of you ever fallen out, putting the band in jeapordy?
When we first started our first singer left the band and it took us a long while 2 find our current female singer emma, we have our struggles but usually always pull through.


5) Do you all have an equal input in the creation of your music?
Ye well we all help 2 contribute in our own way 2 the sound and music we create, every1 has their chance 2 cum up wit ideas and we do encorage each other 2 come up with new stuff.


6) Would you be interested in competeing in a 'Get Famous Quick' reality T.V show like 'You're a Star'?
We would probly do it for the publicity but would never take the prize if we won the show as most of these bands never make it big, but of course the temptation would probly make u take the prize anyways, it would be interesting 2 try it but i think its better 2 live the hard way and work your way up....u will appreciate the fame more then.


7) What do think of Manufactured Bands/Solo Artists?
Personally i think that manufactured bands are terrible and rarely make it, i'm not sure what the others think, but its all about your spirit as a band and putting ur life into the music.
solo artists are fine by my standards, thats their way of expressing themselves so i respect that.


8) "A Star can't just have tallent they have to be Commercial too"-Simon Cowel 2007 - Do you agree that peopel can get famous thank to look and not tallent?
Yes i believe that fame is all about image and advertising, of course some talent is required...but if you gave us €1,000,000 for advertising i gurantee we would be famous in a week.


9) What Music did you listen to when you grew up? Did t his influence your Music now or have you changed.
I have always listened 2 all types of music and still do 2day, mainly now i listen 2 heavy rock and metal where as in my younger day it was alot more mainstream stuff.



10) Music should reflect the person, not the Person should reflect the music. What are your thought?
Ye man i agree with that statementas ur songs and music should reflect who u are and wat ur about, but also u should fit in with ur music aswell.
