Pavilion Residency
2 months agoGreat News! Cork DJ Stevie G had given us a residency at his newly opened club The Pavilion. The Pav - on Careys lane in Cork city - has been completely refurbished into one of corks hottest clubs and music venues. We played at the launch party on May 30th which was a great debut for the club, showcasing some of Corks best artists aswell as a rockin set by Stevie. We will be playing once a month during Steve's Friday night Jam set and are really looking forward to some great nights there.

Blastbeat World Finals!
7 months agoIf you were unfortunate enough not to be there yourself the Blastbeat World Final was a huge success. It truly was a World Final with people from all corners of the globe competing and attending at the Tripod club in Dublin. Congradulations to Hotstop on their fantastic win, hope to play with ye again soon. Also congradulations to the South African mini company Muiskcaap Which won the mini company side of the competition. All-in-all a great weekend and a true sign that BLastbeat is on the up and up - all over the world!

Were just practicing like mad, writing news music, going back over old stuff and making it better...well hopefully anyway! were really focusing on the album now and how we want it to sound, and also how we DON'T want it to sound! But it will be a while til' were gonna be in the studio but we want to be ready, so practice practice!

1 year agoFeels damn weird, but it's (the LC) finally over...well not for baby Kev, but for the rest of us it's unreal!
We've already started on new material which we'll be testin out over the summer, and quite possibly be recording really soon.
Can't wait for the Spiegel Tent, it's gonna be crazy, and the Black Box in Galway is lookin amazin. So things are lookin good, try n make it to one of our gigs, we'll do our best to entertain- thanks for droppin by!

1 year agoHey guys, we just got back from the 5th World Summit for Media & Children, it was an amazing experience, one that we can't really put into words. What we can say is that SA is home to some of the nicest and open people you could ever meet, and man can they dance. We played around 6 or 7 shows- including the opening ceremony- each of them unique, as we called different people to the stage each day. They all added something new & fresh to the performance, and to the warm reaction that we got from the crowd. We are planning to return at the end of the summer for a month or 2, to gig and record, and to hook up with those from Cape Town involved in Blast:beat (you rock!). Thanks for listening.

Hi guys,
Well its official, As of 12pm New years eve we are signed to Blastspace Records. We're really looking forward to getting into the studio in two weeks time to record a few songs to pass around to people. We'll be recording the full album in August which seems ages away but it gives us something to look forward to.
The other good news is that there will be an all ages Blastspace Hip-Hop event held in The Half Moon Theatre, Cork at the end of February. Were on the lookout for rappers, breakdancers and any funk,Reggae bands etc. If you're interested or know anyone who is then leave a comment below and we'll get back to you. We just started this whole Blastspace thing a few days ago and its all been really positive, thanks for all the adds. We'll be gigging over Christmas around the place, We'll post some dates when we get them. Leave a comment on the Video, let us know what you think. No Music up yet, but thats just a teething problem with the site. I think its working pretty well for such a new site all credit to them. talk t'ye soon.
