First NYC Blast Space live gig!!!!

Black Sheep is pleased to announce that we had the honor of putting on the first Blastspace live event in New York City. It means a lot to us since we were also the first company out of NYC to put on a Blast Beat show, and then move on to finals in Ireland. Though we faced a few set backs - such as our headliners dropping out and searching for amps - luckily, we have amazing friends in amazing bands who are always willing to help us out and the show went off without a hitch - though people were still hungover from partying too hard July 4th. We had Less Than Normal, our good buddies 5 cases of a Tragedy and Hugo, The Dirty Dirty and Blast Rocks Midtown play. Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a good time :]We wish you all could have been there!! We can't wait for the next show on July 27th at the Cake Shop - who knows, maybe Black Sheep will be heading over to do a show in Ireland soon........

Revenge of the underdogs.... and more!

So, we will be having our first Blastspace live event at the Bowery Poetry Club July 5th from 4 - 7pm. Black Sheep will be featuring the acts: Less Than Normal, Hugo, Blast Rocks Midtown!, The Dirty Dirty, and headlining will be The Mighty Handful. Tix are only $6. We are also collaborating with Feel - X, an artist who competed this year, to put on another show in early August. We have a show lined up for late July as well, with a band called Maybe Robot who came to us in search of a basement show. We will also be putting on a show August 30, with a kid named Gabriel, who goes under the guise "showISmonster" and does the same thing we do with putting on shows with young local NYC acts, but I commend him because he does about 3 shows a month with a ton of bands and he organizes every aspect of the show all by himself. We have all come together under our love of the show, and hope to continue putting on shows for as long as we possibly can. We are the rise of the show - stay tuned.......

Greetings loyal following! Black Sheep records is back in action! It's been a while since we've been in the groove of things and with a new team and busy schedules, it's been a bit slow, but things are begining to pick up. We are starting to fundraise and scout for new talent, some of which are now on the blastspace site. Check out The Fuse, some of Black Sheeps newest talent! Also returning this year is the almighty 5 Cases of a Tragedy, they're back and better than ever. The team is more than excited and anxoius for our trip to Ireland, and we are bringing the best of the best from the best. And to all the other NYC schools - don't sleep on us! Black Sheep's BACK!

Black Sheep Wins!

Yesterday,June 16th was the New York City finals. Tensions mounted as the winners were about to be announced. When Ruici said Black Sheep Records were the winners, we all were so overjoyed, words cannot explain! We were handed the prestegious gold record by Robert and all was right with the world. We are soooo happy and greatful that the judges took notice of all our hard work and decided that we would be the right team to take to Ireland. Not only that, we now have the title of the FIRST winning Blast Beat team out of the East Coast!! We will be accompanied by our winning band Vertigo, a melodic hard rock group from Staten Island. They are also estatic about the whole thing. They, like us, can't believe we're actually going to Ireland! I especially want to thank all the bands that represented us in the finals. Aljadaqui, G Mafia and 5 Cases of a Tragedy. All you guys rock and you truley made us proud. Thanks for all your support. I also want to thank Mr. Klein and Ms. Vaccaro, without you guys I'm sure we all would have torn each others heads off. You guys totally deserved that award. And of course my "homies" the Black Sheep team! We did it you guys, thanks for all your hard work and dedication, thanks for sticking together when the going got tough. We're going to Ireland! Watch out - Black Sheep is comin' for ya! You can check out our winning band, Vertigo at blastspace.com/vertigo or on our website, blastbeatusa.com/blacksheeprecords.

The Show Must Go On

Even though we were delt that crushing blow about not being able to have our Hip Hop band perform, we are still going to have the show, at the same time. As the previous blog states, the hip hop group is the group from our school, and without them there, that will depleat our attendance greatly. Hopefully, the kids will just come out and show their support anyway. I can't help but just get a little upset that they think that they will need to hire butt loads of security just for a single hip hop act - I smell a bit of ignorance. Anyway, if YOU are in the New York area and want to see some real talent, come to the Black Sheep Records battle of the bands Sunday, May 27 from 6 - 9 at Don Hills at Greenwich and Spring. Come show you support!!!!For more info, go to www.blastbeatusa.com/blacksheepreco rds

The CDs are on Sale!

As we are getting closer to the 27th, we are getting ready to make some profit!

Black Sheep Records has now received the CDs from Warner Bros. to gain extra help with the Battle of the Bands. They are selling the CDs from $12-15! Although it may seem high, it's possible for the Black Sheep Records! It's their "secret weapon" to give a sucker punch for the last moment!

So long until the D-day! Battle of the Bands! May 27, 2007! At Don Hill's!
